What it measures

The number of new prospects that came into your business this period. People who reached out, filled out a form, called, or were introduced. Anyone you can reasonably follow up with counts as a lead, whether or not they end up buying.

Why it matters

Leads are the top of your funnel. This number tells you whether your marketing and referral activities are filling the funnel at the rate you need.
